Make Money Online With Etsy Jobs From Home

Etsy jobs from home

There are tons of people in this world who love to create.

Whether that creative process involves things such as creating jewelry, painting or creating other handmade items, this is their passion.

What is not their passion is finding a market that will buy their items.

Sure, there are those lucky few that can open a brick and mortar shop, or can find boutiques and other shops to carry their items, but what about the rest?

Enter Etsy.

When you think of it in simple terms, Etsy is basically the eBay of the handmade world.

You’ll find a community of individuals selling their arts and crafts, handmade items or even supplies.

The Etsy site garners around 30 million visitors a month and gives artists and designers a ready-made platform to display and sell their wares.

No need to figure out how to build a site to sell your items, Etsy can take care of the promoting, selling and payment collecting for you.

Sellers on Etsy make up to one million dollars a year, just by selling on the platform.

Will you be the next one?

Who is this ideal for:

This is exceptionally ideal for the individual who likes to design and create items but needs a little help in selling their wares.

What skills will you need:

There are two skills you will need and luckily you probably already have the first.

The first skill is your creative ability. This will drive your designs and creations and what you plan on selling on Etsy.

The second skill is one that you can acquire if you don’t have it, and it’s to promote your Etsy store.

You can do this through social media, through traditional marketing channels or even partnering with other websites that sell creative pieces of art.

How much time is required to get started:

Getting registered on Etsy is a reasonably quick process. What will take up a bulk of your time is in the creation of your listings.

You will need to create eye-catching titles, descriptions that will help persuade visitors, photos to grab their attention and then decide on a price point that will pull in buyers.

This could take a few days or so for you to create.

Some helpful tips:

1) Do your homework

Now, before you go out and start a store, what you will need to decide is what items you want to sell.

If you already have some in mind, then you can start there. You can also begin to think about the items that you can create yourself.

Now that you have that list, head on over to Etsy to check out what other similar sellers are doing.

Find answers to the questions such as:

  • Which items other sellers are selling?
  • What is their price range?
  • How much competition is there? Is there a lot of competition?
  • How can you differentiate yourself?
  • What items may you be able to sell with less competition?

Once you can answer these questions, you can now decide what area you will go into that will give you the best chance of success.

2) Get a logo

You want your logo to be professional, unique and represent you well.

If you don’t have design skills, there is no need to worry. You can find someone on Fiverr to create one for you.

3) Post-eye-catching photos

This can make or break your store.

You could have the best items on the site, but if your photos aren’t doing them justice, then you won’t get many sales.

Take a look at other successful stores to get an idea of the kind of photos you want to take.

If you are able to, you may want to take your pictures using a DSLR on a plain white background.

You’ll get great quality professional looking pictures.

4) Fill all needs

While this may sound silly, you’ll be losing out on a piece of the market if you only sell high priced items or items in bulk.

Offer different sizes, packages, and prices for your items so you can meet all of your potential customer’s needs.

For instance, if you only sold in bulk and someone wanted to make a smaller purchase, then they won’t be able to buy, and you won’t lose out on a customer.

5) Uncover every stone

When writing product descriptions, what you want to do is make it easy for the person to purchase.

The best way to do this is to research your potential customer inside and out.

Read other seller’s descriptions, comb through all of the questions your potential customer may ask and put yourself in their shoes.

Once you can do that, take your notes and create your description. Be sure to also add in all details and dimensions for your item.

6) Find the right keywords and tags

Many sellers don’t realize just how much sales they are losing out on because they are using the wrong or incorrect keywords.

The right tags and keywords will help get you found, and it’s not that hard to figure out which ones to use.

First, think of what your potential customers may type in, second visit your competition for some ideas and third make a note of the auto-suggested words you find in Etsy’s search bar.

Add all of these to your titles and descriptions.

Etsy Like Options:

You don’t have to restrict yourself to Etsy. You can also expand your reach and sell on other sites similar to Etsy as well.

Here are just some of them:

  • UncommonGoods.com
  • Zibbet.com
  • AftCra.com
  • HandmadeArtists.Com
  • HyenaCart.Com

Mixing in some of these in addition to Etsy will help you to make more sales, gain a bigger following and give you better brand recognition.

How to make money:

You make money when people make a purchase from your Etsy store.

Several things will help drive more sales, the first being your ratings and trustworthiness.

If your customers sing your praises, then this will help to drive sales.

The second thing is your reliability.

To keep those high ratings, you will need to ensure that you are delivering what you promise when you promise it.

Take the time to pack items carefully, so they don’t break, bend or get nicked in transit.

Pack it as if you were sending something to a family member or friend.

Be sure to build in your costs for shipping and packing materials into the overall cost.

Good luck!
